Different issues, constantly being updated
earth.google.com then go to gallery
go to google, go to advanced search, search for specific file type (kml or kmz (zipped kml))
when you get search returns, control click and save link as and download it and then open it and it stores it in my places
Google sky – click on the Saturn icon, layers change, it shows the sky from wherever you last were on the earth. Click it again and it will go back to earth.

I have thought about the piracy issue before and heard many things, but the reading served as a good reference for all of the actual factual information about copyright laws and what is legal and what is not. I also enjoyed reading the article on the Facebook issue at Horace Mann. Privacy on the web is a very interesting and complicated issue and one that I’m very curious about. It is also a very prominent and important issue with all the social networking sites out there and pretty much all of Web 2.0. This also ties back into the piracy issue because of how easy it is to use Web 2.0 to share information and data.

The reading was a good introduction to Blogs, Wikis, and RSS feeds and added more depth to what we talked about in the sessions (especially the Wikis and RSS feeds). I was able to learn a few tips and tricks about how to use them as well as a few ideas about how to use them in the classroom. And the bookmarks on the delicious page are good examples of what we read about. I also found the article from the NY Times about how providers are thinking of charging different rates for different amounts of data downloaded very interesting.

Although some of the information was pretty basic and some of it was out of date, there was also some very useful information that got me started thinking about what I want to accomplish this week and what I might want to try out in my classroom.
